Terms and conditions

Last updated: 10 October 2026

These terms cover using this website. It is a marketing site for Crochet by Skovgaard, not a shop: everything you buy, including custom orders, is bought through my Etsy shop, which has its own policies and terms.

About these terms

Crochet by Skovgaard is the name I use for my handmade crochet, run by an individual from the UK. It is not a registered company or sole trader. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

If you're a consumer, nothing here takes away rights that the law gives you and that can't be waived.

Using the website

You're welcome to browse and share a link. Please don't misuse the site: don't try to break it, overload it, or scrape it in bulk.

I try to keep the information here accurate, but prices, availability and photos on this site are a guide and may be out of date. The Etsy listing is the final word on what's for sale and for how much.

Buying from the Etsy shop

Nothing is sold on this website. Orders, payments, delivery, returns and refunds are handled in my Etsy shop and follow the shop policies shown there and Etsy's terms. Please read them before you buy. Your statutory consumer rights, for example under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, are not affected.

Custom orders

Custom orders are arranged through Etsy messages. Asking about one is a request, not a purchase, and nothing is agreed until I reply with a quote and you accept it. The price, timeline and payment are agreed with you there, and the shop policies apply.

Because I'm crocheting from scratch by hand, I'll give a likeness inspired by your pet and the photos and details you share, not an exact copy. Colour, size and small details can vary a little, and your screen may show colours slightly differently from the real yarn. If you have a firm requirement, tell me early so I can say whether it's possible.

Safety and care

My makes are handmade toys, collectibles and gifts, and my plushies are UKCA certified. Some have small parts such as safety eyes or noses and filling. Please check each listing for age guidance and safety information, keep small items away from babies and young children unless the listing says it's suitable, and supervise young children with them.

For care, I recommend spot cleaning with a damp cloth and keeping them away from heat. Please check the listing for anything specific to the yarn used.

Photos, designs and copyright

The photographs, text, designs, patterns and other content on this site, and the things I make, belong to me and are protected by copyright. You may view them and share a link, but please don't copy, resell, or use them (including to make or sell copies of my designs) without asking me first.

If you send me photos of your pet for a custom order, you confirm that you took them or have permission to use them, and you allow me to use them to make your plushie. Unless you ask me not to, I may share photos of the finished plushie on the website, Etsy and social media. I will never show your name or contact details.

Liability

I take care over this website and my work, but the website is provided as it is, and I can't promise it will always be available or error-free. I'm not responsible for the content or availability of other websites I link to, such as Etsy, Instagram or Facebook.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for your statutory rights as a consumer.

Privacy and cookies

How this website handles information is explained in the privacy policy, and how cookies work on this site is explained in the cookie policy. Please read both.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts can hear any dispute. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live, and you keep the mandatory consumer protections of your own country.

If we have a disagreement, please contact me first and we'll try to settle it directly. For purchases through Etsy you can also use Etsy's own case process, and Citizens Advice can give free consumer guidance.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page, with the date at the top, is the one that applies when you use the site.
